{"id":1653,"date":"2022-06-08T16:49:09","date_gmt":"2022-06-08T14:49:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unescochairgced.it\/conferenza-educare-alla-cittadinanza-globale\/"},"modified":"2026-03-05T14:44:40","modified_gmt":"2026-03-05T13:44:40","slug":"conference-educating-for-global-citizenship","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/unescochairgced.it\/en\/conference-educating-for-global-citizenship\/","title":{"rendered":"Conference"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t\t<h1>\n\t\t\tANGEL Conference 2026\n\t\t<\/h1>\n\t\t\t<h4>\u00a0<\/h4><h4><strong>Bologna, 10-11 September 2026<\/strong><\/h4>\t\t\n<figure itemscope itemtype=\"https:\/\/schema.org\/ImageObject\">\n\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/unescochairgced.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/ANGEL.png\" alt=\"ANGEL\" height=\"1080\" width=\"1920\" title=\"ANGEL\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\" loading=\"lazy\" \/>\n\t<\/figure>\n\tThe <strong data-start=\"223\" data-end=\"260\">XI International ANGEL Conference<\/strong> will take place on <strong data-start=\"280\" data-end=\"304\">10-11 September 2026<\/strong> at the University of Bologna, bringing together academics, researchers, policymakers and practitioners engaged in the field of <strong data-start=\"436\" data-end=\"489\">Global Education and Global Citizenship Education<\/strong>.\nAt a time of profound global uncertainty-marked by war, environmental crises, deepening inequalities, and the rise of nationalism and authoritarianism-the conference aims to reflect on the role of <strong data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1334\">global education and learning<\/strong> as a force for peace, justice and collective action. The event will explore questions of power, voice and purpose in global education, including whose knowledge is valued, whose futures are imagined, and how global learning can move beyond rhetoric towards meaningful and transformative practice.\nGuided by the commitments of the <em>Dublin Declaration &#8211; The European Declaration on Global Education to 2050<\/em>, the conference will encourage interdisciplinary dialogue and critical engagement across research, policy and practice. Particular attention will be given to perspectives emerging from <strong data-start=\"1929\" data-end=\"1994\">decolonial, feminist, indigenous and Global South scholarship<\/strong>, as well as to the challenges of translating research and evidence into educational action through innovative methodologies, evaluation and pedagogical approaches.\nThe conference will also address the implications of <strong data-start=\"2213\" data-end=\"2243\">rapid technological change<\/strong>, including digitalisation and artificial intelligence, and their intersection with global justice, environmental sustainability and equitable futures.\nResearchers, educators, practitioners and policymakers are invited to submit proposals for individual<strong data-start=\"2487\" data-end=\"2584\"> paper presentations (15-20 minutes), symposia, workshops or other special sessions<\/strong>. Abstracts should demonstrate a clear connection to the conference themes and to the broader field of global education and learning. All sessions will take place in person and in English.\nThe <strong data-start=\"2782\" data-end=\"2827\">deadline for submissions is 13 April 2026<\/strong>.
