Full Professor of General Pedagogy at the Department of Quality of Life Sciences of the University of Bologna
He founded the first Italian research center on Global Citizenship Education – IRC-GLOCed. He was co-director of the Development Education Research Centre at the Institute of Education, University College London. He is a member of the Advisory Board and coordinator of the Academic Network on Global Education and Learning (ANGEL).
GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP EDUCATION: RE AND DE CONTEXTUALISING THE FIELD

LAUNCH CONFERENCE OF THE GEL DATABASE
On Monday 15 May at 5pm, a conference will be held at the Gambalunga Library, Via A. Gambalunga 27, Rimini, to launch the Global Education and Learning (GEL), a database collecting more than 3400 publications in 10 different languages in the field of Global Citizenship Education.

The ANGEL's fourth International Conference on the theme of ‘Global Education & Learning for a Just, Peaceful and Sustainable World’ will be held within UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on June 19-20, 2023.
The ANGEL conference will bring together academics, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners with an interest in research on Global Education & Learning, Education for Sustainability, and Global Citizenship. It will include a mixture of inspirational keynote presentations, academic papers and presentations from empirical research, debates on key issues and opportunities for meetings of specialist Journal boards, early career researchers, NGO practitioners and policymakers.
The event is organised by the Academic Network of Global Education and Learning (ANGEL) in partnership with UNESCO, with the cooperation of Global Education Network Europe (GENE), UCL’s Faculty of Education & Society, and the UNESCO Chair in GCED in Higher Education, based at the University of Bologna. The conference is co-funded by the European Union.

INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL
The 5th edition of the Winter School in International Perspectives on Education Policy (IPEP) organised by the Department of Human Sciences of the University of Verona in collaboration with the Unesco Chair in GCED of the University of Bologna will be an opportunity to learn, explore, investigate and discuss education policies in different contexts (global, national and institutional), as well as their effects on educational provision.
From 5 to 10 February 2023, internationally renowned lecturers and exponents will lead classes on the topics of global citizenship education, educational policy research, data analysis and more, as well as offering workshops and research activities that will actively involve students.
