Full Professor of General Pedagogy at the Department of Philosophy of the University of Bologna

He founded the first Italian research center on Global Citizenship Education – IRC-GLOCed. He was co-director of the Development Education Research Centre at the Institute of Education, University College London. He is a member of the Advisory Board and Co-Chair of the Academic Network on Global Education and Learning (ANGEL).

LUNCH-TIME SEMINAR SERIES

On 3 March 2026, Jason Goulah (DePaul University, Chicago) will deliver a lunch-time seminar titled “Value-Creating Education for Global Citizenship.” The talk will explore the educational thought of Tsunesaburō Makiguchi, Jōsei Toda, and Daisaku Ikeda and their contributions to the field of value-creating education for global citizenship. The seminar will take place from 13:00 to 14:30 in Aula Mondolfo (via Zamboni 38) and will be held in English.

GLOCITED is an editorial project for the scientific dissemination on topics related to Global Citizenship Education (GCE) in italian and english It develops with the aim of stimulating ideas, projects and alliances among different actors.
The form and rhythm of communication will be agile and flexible, while the content will maintain academic rigour.

The Academic Network for Global Education & Learning, in partnership with the University of Bologna and with the cooperation of the Global Education Network Europe and the UCL Institute of Education, is organising the VI International ANGEL Conference.

The event will bring together academics, researchers, policymakers and practitioners working in the field of Global Education & Global Citizenship Education. Contributions addressing development education, human rights education, education for sustainable development, peace education and intercultural education are welcomed.

The deadline for submissions is 13 April 2026. Researchers and practitioners from around the world ar invited to contribute and join this important international dialogue.
