Full Professor of General Pedagogy at the Department of Quality of Life Sciences of the University of Bologna

He founded the first Italian research center on Global Citizenship Education – IRC-GLOCed. He was co-director of the Development Education Research Centre at the Institute of Education, University College London. He is a member of the Advisory Board and coordinator of the Academic Network on Global Education and Learning (ANGEL).

Agenda 2030: Change Makers

On 27 September, Raffaella Faggioli, member of the UNESCO Chair in GCE at the University of Bologna, will give a lecture at the ITC Valturio, Rimini (IT) on how education can be a vehicle for sustainable actions.

Anniversary of the Magna Charta Universitatum

The international conference organised by the Magna Charta Observatory was held in Bologna from 14 to 16 September 2022. Among the prominent guests Giovanni Molari (Magnifico Rettore Alma Mater Studiorum) and Massimiliano Tarozzi (UNESCO GCED Chair).

INTERNATIONAL WINTER SCHOOL

The 5th edition of the Winter School in International Perspectives on Education Policy (IPEP) organised by the Department of Human Sciences of the University of Verona in collaboration with the Unesco Chair in GCED of the University of Bologna will be an opportunity to learn, explore, investigate and discuss education policies in different contexts (global, national and institutional), as well as their effects on educational provision.

From 5 to 10 February 2023, internationally renowned lecturers and exponents will lead classes on the topics of global citizenship education, educational policy research, data analysis and more, as well as offering workshops and research activities that will actively involve students.

The launch conference of the chair on 24 June, organized in collaboration with the Metropolitan City of Bologna, has been the opportunity to promote the objectives shared between the Municipality of Bologna and the Alma Mater, and to dialogue with key actors from academia at local, national and international level.
The following intervened to bring institutional greetings: Bologna Mayor Matteo Lepore, the Rector of the Alma Mater Giovanni Molari, Stefania Giannini, UNESCO Deputy Director General for Education, and Liam Wegimont, Executive Director Global Education Network of Europe (GENE).
The conference developed around three themes and as many round tables: New Citizenships and the Right to Reception; Global Citizenship Education in Universities; the Magna Charta Universitatum network; Global Citizenship Education at the University: the actors. The round tables have been chaired by Massimiliano Tarozzi GCED UNESCO Chair Holder and Marcella Milana professor at the University of Verona.
