Global Citizenship Education: from research to policy

Marcella Milana, member of the Scientific Committee of the UNESCO Chair, will speak at a policy roundtable on ECGs at the European Parliament on 16 November. The event will be broadcast live from 9-11am. Registration is required to attend.

Creating Glocal Perspectives – Global Citizenship Education for a Transformed Future

On 17 and 18 November 2023, the first transnational conference ‘Creating Glocal Perspectives – Global Citizenship Education for a Transformed Future’, organised by the University of Klagenfurt, will take place online. Professor Tarozzi will participate as a speaker in the panel discussion ‘Different Perspectives of Global Citizenship Education’.

CALL FOR TUTORS for the GCE Intensive Course in Tunisia

Applications are now open for the Intensive Course on Global Citizenship Education to be held in Tunis from 13 to 18 November. The course is organised by the Italian Foundation for Higher Education in Africa (IHEA) in collaboration with the UNESCO Office for the Maghreb in Tunis and the UNESCO Chair in ECG.

INSIGHTS INTO GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP AND TEACHING OF CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES IN FINNISH UPPER SECONDARY VOCATIONAL EDUCATION

On Friday 29 September, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Room 2, Via Azzo Gardino 33, Bologna, Riikka Suhonen, visiting professor at the University of Helsinki, will give a seminar on the challenges that different forms of knowledge, information and disinformation from social media pose for critical global citizenship education. On Thursday, September 21, in Bologna, the UNESCO Chair invites you to the First Interregional Forum on Global Citizenship Education organized as part of the R-Educ- – “Regions for Global Citizenship Education: Models of Governance and Good Practices” project.

Master’s Degree in Education for the Reception and Integration of Migrants, Asylum Seekers and Refugees

The call for applications is open for the two-year first level Master’s Degree proposed by the Department of Educational Sciences “Giovanni Maria Bertin” with the aim of training professionals working within the reception system for migrants on Italian territory.

LAUNCH CONFERENCES OF THE GEL DATABASE

On Monday 15 May at 5pm, a conference will be held at the Gambalunga Library, Via A. Gambalunga 27, Rimini, to launch the Global Education and Learning (GEL), a database collecting more than 3400 publications in 10 different languages in the field of Global Citizenship Education.
