Applications Now Open: IPEP Summer School 2026 on Geopolitical Dis/rupture and Education Policy, University of Verona

The UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education in Higher Education is delighted to announce that applications are officially open for the 2026 edition of the International Perspectives on Education Policy (IPEP) Summer School. Taking place in person from 14 to 19 September at the Department of Human Sciences, University of Verona, this year’s programme will tackle a highly pressing global issue: geopolitical dis/rupture and its profound implications for education policy.

A Hands-On Approach and the University of Bologna’s Contribution

The programme stands out for its unique blend of theoretical lectures and hands-on experience in education policy analysis, introducing participants to rigorous methodologies including document analysis, discourse analysis, and educational ethnography.

A key highlight for our Chair will take place on Wednesday, 16 September, when Massimiliano Tarozzi and Luca Vittori (University of Bologna) will lead a dedicated session on the University Corridors for Refugees (UNICORE) project and Italian Universities. Their contribution will be instrumental for the participants’ study groups; attendees will work directly on a practical case study concerning international access to higher education, with a special focus on the inclusion of refugees within Italian academia.
