Heritage Meets the Future – Bologna, 17/18 May 2024

The conference, which celebrates the recognition of the Portici di Bologna as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, aims to launch a discussion on the need to protect the historic urban landscape and to question the role of UNESCO sites. The aim of the two-day event is to identify common strategies to protect the urban heritage from the effects of challenges such as climate change or catastrophic events such as wars, but also ways to protect and enhance it in everyday life, promoting a sense of community and active participation of citizens in the care of their heritage.

Lunchtime seminars:”Promoting global citizenship in China: University English language teachers’ dilemma and voices” with Enze Guo (UCL)- 8 May 2024 at 1pm

On 8 May 2024, from 13.00 to 14.30, the third seminar in the series of Lunchtime Seminars organised by the UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education in Higher Education, entitled “Promoting global citizenship in China: University English teachers’ dilemma and voices”, will be held in Bologna at the Celio Lecture Hall, via Zamboni 38. The author, Enze Guo from University College London, will present some reflections resulting from his research on the promotion of global citizenship in Chinese universities.

Book launch with Emiliano Bosio and Maria Guajardo

The series of “Lunchtime Seminars” promoted by the UNESCO Chair in GCEHE, which started in March with Ricardo Römhild (University of Münster) with the presentation “Language Pedagogy of Hope: Idealistic Dream or Viable Path towards Transformation?” proceeds with the launch of the book “Value-creating Education” edited by Emiliano Bosio and Maria Guajardo (Routledge).
