Conference “REDISCOVERING THE MEANING OF EDUCATION”

On Saturday 15 October, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the publication of the first issue of ENCYCLOPAIDEA – Journal of phenomenology and Education, the UNESCO Chair in GCED in Higher Education in collaboration with the Institute of Advanced Studies (ISA) are organising in the Sala Rossa of Palazzo Marchesini, Via Marsala 36, Bologna, the conference “REDISCOVERING THE MEANING OF EDUCATION. The purposes of education in the age of learnification”.
The conference will start at 9:30 a.m. with the institutional greetings given by Massimiliano Tarozzi (UNESCO Chair Holder), Anna Maria Fariselli (ISA) and Vanna Iori (Senato della Repubblica).
The morning session will feature guest speaker Professor Greg Biesta (University of Maynooth and University of Edinburgh) who will deliver a lecture entitled “The aim of education in an age of measurement”.
This will be followed by speeches of the ENCYCLOPAIDEIA’s advisory board members.
The afternoon session will start at 2.30 p.m. with the Round Table on “What does teaching mean today?” moderated by Marco Dallari (University of Bologna).
