R-Educ project website online

The website of the R-Educ project – “Regions for Global Citizenship Education: Models of Governance and Good Practices” – is online. The project, financed by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), is led by the Emilia-Romagna region in partnership with six other Italian regions (Piemonte, Marche, Lazio, Liguria, Sardegna and Calabria), the University of Bologna with the UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education, the WeWorld-GVC association (which also represents other NGOs associated with Coordinamento ONG Emilia-Romagna – COONGER – in the project) and the Concord Italia Onlus national network.

The initiative has a twofold objective: on the one hand, to promote the development and strengthening of the concept of “citizenship” understood as belonging to the global community; on the other hand, to trigger processes of change by incentivizing awareness and individual and collective behaviors oriented to build a more sustainable and just world. The project aims to disseminate and include within local policies the theme of global citizenship education both through the construction of coordination between administrations and civil society and through the implementation of a Higher Education Course on ECG issues.
