Lunchtime seminars:”Promoting global citizenship in China: University English language teachers’ dilemma and voices” with Enze Guo (UCL)- 8 May 2024 at 1pm

On 8 May 2024, from 1 to 2.30 (CET), the third seminar in the series of “Lunchtime Seminars” organised by the UNESCO Chair in Global Citizenship Education in Higher Education, entitled “Promoting global citizenship in China: The dilemma and voices of university English teachers”, will be held in Bologna at the Aula Celio, Via Zamboni 38. The author, Enze Guo from University College London, will present some reflections based on his research on the promotion of global citizenship in Chinese universities and, in particular, its relationship with globalisation, Confucianism in traditional Chinese culture and Western ideas of citizenship. It also explores the role of the recently strengthened ideological and political education of the English language curriculum in Chinese universities.
