LUNCH-TIME SEMINAR SERIES

On September 23, we are pleased to invite you to an extraordinary seminar with Prof. Claudio Coletta on Climate Citizenship and Global Citizenship Education, entitled Becoming citizens in the Anthropocene

Prof. Coletta will explore how climate citizenship is enacted through social, technical, and knowledge practices, shaping new forms of governance and political communities in the Anthropocene.

The seminar will examine how climate issues redistribute responsibilities at national, transnational, and local levels, highlight the infrastructural dimension of citizenship, and explore intersections with other forms of citizenship, including digital and energy citizenship. Real-world cases where climate citizenship is enacted or neglected will also be discussed, with reflections on the implications for climate, epistemic, and social justice.

The seminar will offer concrete insights into the role of Global Citizenship Education (GCED) in fostering aware and active citizens capable of addressing climate challenges and contributing to a sustainable future.

The seminar will take place in Aula Mondolfo, Via Zamboni 38, Bologna.

The seminar will be hold in English
