Teaching Global Citizenship Education at the University. An experiential approach – Tunisi, 20-26/5/2024
As part of the transversal course “Global Citizenship Skills” taught by prof. Massimiliano Tarozzi, ten students enrolled at the University of Bologna had the opportunity to participate in a study visit to Tunisia, organised by the NGO WeWorld Onlus and funded by the Italian Buddhist Institute Soka Gakkai, from 20 to 26 May 2024.
The aim of the study trip was to accompany the students to carry out field work in which they could put into practice the theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom. Indeed, the trip to Tunisia allowed us to address issues related to global migration and environmental sustainability from a concrete and, above all, non-Eurocentric perspective.
During the trip, the students were able to meet representatives and volunteers from NGOs working in Tunisia, their peers enrolled at the University of Carthage and visit institutions such as the Tunis Antenna of UNESCO pour le Maghreb.
