Global citizenship and identity in Tunisia
The Institut Supérieur des Cadres de l’Enfance and its director Rym Laribi with the support of the Ministries of Famille, Femme, l’Enfance et des Séniors and Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche Scientifique, organised a major conference on the the relationship between identity and globalisation, with a particular focus on global citizenship education.
Indeed, the invitation to Massimiliano Tarozzi to give the opening lecture on ‘Identité, mondialisation et citoyenneté mondiale’ is emblematic of the interest in a controversial and sometimes divisive issue in Arab countries.
On 23 November, in the evocative premises of the ISCE overlooking the sea of Carthage, a series of theoretical lectures, followed by workshops, involved the students in the creative elaboration of the themes raised during the conference, using different languages of expression.
The conference was also an opportunity to further strengthen the partnership with the University of Carthage with a view to future exchanges and academic collaboration.
